Brady Playing at Monkey Bizness

We took Brady to Little Monkey Bizness and he had so much fun! There were so many things for him to do and he just loved it. Monkey Bizness is having a video contest. You have to post a video of your kid playing at Monkey Bizness on their wall and whichever video has the most Likes or comments will win a free birthday party. I made a video so hopefully we will win!

Brady is quite the little helper. Every time I go to load or unload the dishwasher he is right there to help. I give him a dish to put away and tell him where to put it. He puts it away and comes back for more. When we are done unloading and loading it we put in the soap and close the door. I showed him once that he needs to push "Normal Wash" and "Start." I didn't think he would actually remember it. I was sure wrong. A few days later I hear the dishwasher running. Brady runs into the living room to get my help. I go and check the dishwasher . Of the 9 buttons on the front of the dishwasher, Brady had pushed "Normal Wash" and "Start."

Happy Halloween!

We went to the pumpkin patch. Brady thought that riding on the wagon out to the pumpkin patch was pretty cool. He didn't really care about the pumpkins though. All he wanted to do was look at the animals. His favorite were the chickens.

We carved the pumpkins that we picked out. He was really excited to help at first but lost interest really quickly. He didn't really like pulling the seeds out the pumpkin. He thought it was too "yucky."

Halloween night we out trick-or-treating to a few houses. We stopped at Grandma's house to practice.

He was the cutest superman ever. He loved running from house to house. He found a dancing skeleton to dance with and he of course had to pet every puppy that he saw. He said bye three or four times to every house as we left. He had a great Halloween!

Potty Training

We have recently took on the adventure of potty training. There have been some interesting moments but overall, Brady is doing great. He stays in underwear all day and keeps them dry. Last night he slept in his underwear and stayed dry then too. The other day he said "Mommy, potty," then dropped his underwear, ran into the bathroom, and before I could even get in there to help him he had already started. He is already learning to go on his own! Yeah, no more diapers!

Cousin Play Day!

Will and Olivia came over for the day Wednesday. Brady loves playing with his cousins. Olivia jumped in the jumper, we built a tent, we played with a lot of cars, and we went to the park. It was a fun day!

Camping!

We went camping last weekend. We couldn't seem to keep the fire alive. Brady fell asleep cuddled up on my lap :) In a small tent we fit Tim, Brady, Stephanie, Kaya, and I. When Brady woke up he was very happy to see us all in the tent. He kept trying to wake everyone up. GW, Tim's friend, warned us not to touch the sides of the tent. What did Brady do when he woke up...stood up, hit the tent, and the dew got us all wet.

Brady Loves to Perform

Bedtime routine

During our bedtime routine tonight we asked Brady to pray. He began with some blabber and ended with Kaya and kitty amen.

We sang Jesus Loves Me and Brady tried to sing along to the whole thing.

Daddy then told Brady to say "Love you Daddy." He said it and I asked, "What about Mommy?" Brady then said, "Mommy too."

Brady and Daddy like to work out together.

Royals Game

We went to a Royals game with my mom, sister, uncle Tim, and cousin Mary. We had a great time! It was Brady's first game and he loved it. He was really interested at first and stood and watched the teams warm up. We went and checked out the kids zone. Brady didn't really like the carousel so he kept a tight grip around my neck the whole time. He played a little Putt-putt with my cousin Mary. Brady received a certificate for his first Royals game. He was very excited about that. Brady also got on the jumbo screen 3 times, probably because they thought that he was SO cute. Finally, on the third time we managed to get a picture of it. Overall, we all had a really fun time.

Picnic and Disc Golf

We went on a picnic and played disc golf. It was so fun, but so hot. Kaya got to run around and enjoy being outside. She did really well until a deer ran by. She went after the deer, I went after her, and then Timothy went after both of us. Steph just stood where she was and laughed. We eventually found Kaya and went back to playing. I wasn't too happy at Kaya, but I couldn't help laughing about it.
When we put Brady to bed he for some reason moves straight to the floor and sleeps right in front of the door. This is what I found when I went upstairs.

Vacation to Florida!

We went on a vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida. It was Brady and my's first vacation with the DeArmond clan. We had a lot a of fun.
Brady loved waking up to his Grandparents and Aunt Brianne every morning. He got to play with his cousins everyday and had a great time.
He was scared of the ocean at first, but once he got used to it he played in the sand and splashed in the water.
He also enjoyed his phone calls to his Uncle Keith, but we think that he now believes that Keith is in the phone.
He loved the kiddie pool and went down the slide many times. In the big pool we had to keep a close eye on him because he tried many times to squirm out of your arms and put his face in the water. He loved jumping off the side into the pool and even tried to jump where you wouldn't catch him. Brady also loved lounging in the lazy river.
We had a great vacation and here are some pictures from our trip.

Brady's New Backpack

My mom and I were on a hunt to find Brady a kid's backpack. We were about to give up on the search when my mom found two. She held up a Thomas the Train one and a Toy Story 3 one to give Brady his choice. He chose the Toy Story one. I liked the Thomas one better so I said "He is one, he doesn't know what he wants." I then preceded to put the Thomas the Train backpack on Brady. He didn't want anything to do with it. My mom again asked Brady which one he wanted. He again chose the Toy Story backpack. Grandma put it on him and he waltzed down the aisle.

Timothy is not always to blame

Since living with Timothy I assumed that if I didn't do it Timothy was the one to blame. It has usually been correct up to this point.

This morning I went to let Brady out of his room. I noticed that the fan was on and my mind immediately jumped to the thought that Timothy must have left it on. But as I was telling Brady to come downstairs, he walks right over to the fan, turns it off, and heads downstairs.

Most days I have to get on to Timothy about remembering to shut off the hallway light. Now I can no longer immediately blame him because Brady likes to spend a lot of time turning the light on and off. Luckily when I ask Brady to go turn off the light he enjoys doing it.

These last few weeks I have gotten a little annoyed at the fact that every time I tried to put on my backpack the shoulder straps were buckled together. I thought that Timothy was doing it to make me mad but I just forget to issue my complaint. Today, however Brady was messing with my backpack. When I went to see what he was doing I heard the "click" of the buckle. Brady was the culprit all along.

Finally, I noticed that the patio door got left open. I figured Timothy left it open, so I went to shut it. Later I went to let our dog outside and then Timothy found the door open. He figured I let her in and forgot to close the door. I told him that it wasn't me and we realized that Kaya has figured out a way to open the door when she wants in.

Now, I have learned that I cannot automatically blame Timothy for everything.

July 4th Weekend

We drove up to Minnesota for 4th of July weekend. We had a lot of fun. Brady loved following my little 5 year-old brother around and he copied everything he did. We enjoyed a firework show and every time a firework went off Brady said "Wow!" It was pretty cute.

During the ride there we decided to let Brady show you how smart he is.

Summer Fun!

Happy Easter!

We had a really great Easter. Brady got some presents and hunted for Easter eggs. He just thought it was awesome that the "balls" had little treats in them.
Thank you Grandma Setter for these balls! Now we will never run out.
Thank you Great Grandma DeArmond for the book and Peeps!

Brady's Easter hat.

Brady will only laugh this way when we are in the car.

Happy 14 months Brady!

Brady is now sleeping in a toddler bed. He thinks it is the greatest thing in the world. A lot of the time we find him sleeping on the floor in front of the door.
He is also already becoming a ladies man. We were walking out of church last Sunday when we hear a 5 year old girl yell "Bye Brady." He's going for the older ones.

Brady and Kaya were both trying to get a ball that we threw in the basket.

This is when Brady is happiest: Naked and reading a book.

He has never tried getting down that way again.

He's probably just surfing the internet.

Happy First Birthday Brady!

I can't believe that Brady is already a year old. It has gone by so fast and I have loved every minute of it.

Here is a video of Brady's greatest moments during his first year along with some pictures of his birthday party.
